What is

Wooden Laminate Flooring

Laminate Flooring is a synthetic floor covering that has been designed to look like wood flooring or sometimes stone flooring. Laminate Flooring is affordable, easy to install, and a great alternative to solid wooden flooring.

Installation Process

The installation process involving Laminate Flooring is simple. Laminate Flooring is much like putting together a large puzzle. Laminate floors work with a tongue and groove click-in system making it easy to install.

Care and Maintenance

We recommend using a microfiber mop to minimise excessive water use when cleaning your floors.

UV Protection on windows can assist with direct sunlight and discolouring of flooring.

Felt floor protectors – this preventive measure can be placed underneath all furniture to protect flooring from being scratched.

We recommend a clear protective plastic sheet placed under castor wheels to protect against abrasive damage to your Vinyl and Laminate Floors.

What is

Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring is a product composed of several layers of different materials sandwiched together to form a highly durable, practical, and affordable floor covering. Vinyl Click Flooring is water resistant which makes it ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, and throughout your home or commercial space.

Installation Process

The installation process involving Vinyl Click Flooring is simple. There is no need for any complex tools, nails, or glue. Vinyl Click Flooring is simply installed by lining up the locking system grooves and clicking the planks together. Another advantage is that, as with any floating floor, you can walk on your Vinyl Click Flooring upon installation. No glue, grout, or adhesive needs to dry. Vinyl Click Flooring will work in almost every nook and cranny in your home; which makes Vinyl Flooring a great choice when it comes to freshening up the look of your home.

Understanding Vinyl and Laminate Flooring
Laminate and Vinyl Flooring are floating floors, which means these floors are not glued or nailed down to the sub-floor.  Before you start to install your Vinyl or Laminate Floor, you must ensure that your sub-floor has been properly prepared and is ready for the installation process to begin. If your sub-floor is not of good quality it can cause irreparable damage to your Vinyl and Laminate Flooring, such as warping, cracking, raising, and discolouration.  A.B.S Flooring prefers to do its flooring preparation as opposed to an external company doing the flooring preparation. Final quotations are subject to a sub-floor assessment.

How to determine whether your sub-floor structure is in a conducive state to install Vinyl or Laminate Flooring?

Tiles

The following facts must be taken into account before installing Vinyl or Laminate floors on top of tiles.

  • No loose tiles.
  • No cracked tiles.
  • No hollow tiles.
  • Tile grout must not exceed 2 mm from tile to tile.
  • No height variation between tiles.

With many years of experience, we recommend floor tiles be removed and the subfloor be correctly prepared by our professional team. This preparation process will be explained in detail once we have conducted a flooring inspection.
